In the financial year 2024-25, we partnered with fifteen esteemed CSR organizations to make a tangible impact in the areas of Education, Healthcare, Environment, Research, Rural Development and Livelihood and Other areas. Through these collaborations, we have extended our support to socially and economically disadvantaged communities, aiming to create positive and lasting change.

Healthcare - SWAASTH

Ensuring access to good healthcare is not just a privilege but a fundamental right for all individuals. However, many underprivileged individuals face numerous challenges in obtaining the necessary resources. At CDSL, we have taken up the mission to bridge this gap and make quality healthcare accessible to those in need. In the previous fiscal year, we forged partnerships with three remarkable CSR organizations, embarking on a journey to fulfill this noble objective.

Smile Foundation:

CDSL, in collaboration with Smile Foundation, has deployed one fully equipped mobile healthcare unit navigating the challenging terrains of Jaisalmer and Ladakh each. These units bring essential medical services to the doorsteps of remote communities, staffed by skilled medical professionals dedicated to addressing the healthcare needs of women, children and individuals in need. The aim is to reduce out-of-pocket expenses by providing outpatient services, encourage healthier behaviours, increase demand for quality healthcare, and ensure safe motherhood for pregnant and lactating mothers.

Lions Charitable Trust:

CDSL has collaborated with Lions Charitable Trust to provide a life support Ambulance service, catering to underprivileged below-poverty-line patients on a daily basis. The ambulance has been deployed in the remote areas of Arunachal Pradesh as well as other rural areas across state.

Narayana Hrudayalaya Charitable Trust (NHCT):

We collaborated with NHCT to delivering medical support to individuals from marginalized backgrounds across Maharashtra, Karnataka, Haryana, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Assam, Chhattisgarh and Gujarat. These patients are facing life-threatening conditions and life-altering disorders. Through our combined efforts, we provided them with hope and a chance for a better future.

Yuva Unstoppable:

CDSL partnered with Yuva Unstoppable to launch a School Transformation - Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH). 5 schools converted into Smart classrooms in FY 2023-24, which had a need for Drinking water facility, Sanitation, Clean Drainage, etc. across various regions of Tamil Nadu, Odisha and Maharashtra have been shortlisted for WASH program.

Madhav Netralaya Eye Institute & Research Centre:

CDSL had partnered with Madhav Netralaya to provide free cataract surgeries for individuals from economically disadvantaged backgrounds in Nagpur. The purpose of the collaboration was to help restore vision and improve the quality of life for those in need and make quality healthcare accessible.

Education - SHIKSHA

Access to quality education remains a pressing issue for a significant segment of Indian society. We recognize that empowering underprivileged communities with practical education and awareness is the fundamental stepping-stone for any society to flourish. To address this, we have joined forces with three CSR partners to provide education and awareness programs to young girls, tribal women, and individuals aged 18-25 in Tier II and Tier III cities.

Educate Girls:

Our dedication lies in ensuring that every girl has access to education. In pursuit of this goal, we collaborate with “Educate Girls” to deploy programmes aimed at reaching out-of-school girls in educationally disadvantaged regions of Maharajganj district ,Uttar Pradesh. Working alongside Team Balika, their field staff actively identify and engage with girls who have never been enrolled in school or had to interrupt their primary education.

Rotary Charitable Trust:

CDSL has collaborated with Rotary Charitable Trusts to introduce Adult Literacy Program for Women, targeting the empowerment of illiterate tribal women in Palghar. This initiative focuses on teaching them functional literacy, digital skills and cyber fraud in their native language. Trained educators referred to as “Prerikas”, utilize computer-based learning methods to educate these women, equipping them to thrive, with the world and navigate changing circumstances.

AARTH:

AARTH, CDSL’s online financial education initiative in partnership with Rotary, delivers comprehensive financial and cyber fraud related knowledge to learners in the age group of 18-25 years and underprivileged living in Tier II and Tier III cities. Through our platform, learners can easily access in-depth resources and take free online exams to earn certifications, enhancing their understanding of finance.

Approved Amount - Rs.29 Lakhs

Yuva Unstoppable:

CDSL partnered with Yuva Unstoppable to launch a School Transformation Project, utilizing modern technology to deliver education through Smart Classrooms with audio-video interactive learning platforms across various region including Meghalaya, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir. Yuva Unstoppable ensures that all students comprehend the curriculum while digital technology aids teachers in addressing new challenges and improving their performance.

Public Concern for Governance Trust (PCGT):

CDSL has collaborated with Public Concern for Governance Trust (PCGT) for conducting awareness programs, workshops, seminars and trainings across colleges in Mumbai. The training and workshops will be conducted with Mumbai Police, NSS volunteers and other college students on Road Safety and Cyber Threats and Safety Laws.

Nav Prabhuthi Trust:

CDSL partnered with Nav Prabhuthi Trust for the Skills for Life project, designed to empower individuals with neurodevelopmental condition like Autism, with requisite skills to promote to be able to work and live independently. The project will benefit 12 individuals from Bangalore with neurodevelopmental conditions for vocational skills training like Block Printing Training.

Sankalpturu Foundation:

By partnering with the Sankalptaru Foundation, we have participated in an impactful tree plantation initiative, planting saplings across Ladakh. Through the Barren Community Land Transformation Program, we are dedicatedly converting barren lands into thriving, biodiverse forests, positively impacting both communities and wildlife in the border areas of Ladakh.

Selco Foundation:

By partnering with the Selco Foundation, we are Creating Resilient Vulnerable Community Institutions, using Sustainable Energy solutions. The project addresses Decentralized Renewable Energy (DRE) systems, powered by solar energy in rural, remote and difficult terrain areas of Assam, Manipur and Mizoram where lack of energy is most felt.

Rural Development and Livelihood

Swades Foundation:

We collaborated with Swades Foundation for the Integrated Rural Development with a focus on Dream Villages in the villages of Nashik. The project will arm ever individual with the ability to bring holistic development within the village. Dream village development shall ensure every rural household has access to an individual toilet, portable drinking water through taps, healthcare services and opportunities for a diverse range of livelihood.

Rastriya Raksha University (RRU), Gandhinagar:

We collaborated with Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) to introduce a programme centred on the Prevention of Victimisation from Forgeries and Financial Frauds. This initiative aims to enhance awareness and equip law enforcement agencies, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), defence personnel, and the public with essential knowledge to effectively protect their finances.

Helpage India:

We collaborated with Helpage India for the cause and care of the disadvantaged older persons and to improve their quality of life enabling them to live with dignity and lead active healthy lives in the areas of Tamil Nadu, Punjab and west Bengal. This project will provide Safe and Comfortable Old Age Homes and Elders Villages for Needy & Abandoned Elderly along with livelihood for Financial, Social and Health Inclusions.

We supported Project Vajra initiated by IIT Bombay, an initiative aimed at empowering micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with limited financial resources to defend against cyberattacks. Vajra involves transitioning from a developed version to a production version to enhance cybersecurity defences and mitigate potential damages.

Vajra has been released for use.

Smiles on Wheels In collaboration with Smile Foundation, we have unleashed a fleet of fully equipped mobile healthcare vehicles that traverse the difficult terrains of Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, bringing hope and healing to the doorstep of hard-to-reach communities. These mobile clinics are staffed by highly skilled medical professionals who tirelessly cater to the medical needs of women, children, and individuals in need. Moreover, these vehicles serve as a lifeline by providing free consultations with gynaecologists and ensuring that patients are seamlessly connected to the nearest hospitals for specialized treatments and follow-ups. This heartfelt initiative has touched the lives of over 5,000 individuals, with more than 65 dedicated outpatient departments conducted.

This comprehensive program covers vital areas such as hearing disabilities, paediatric eye care, and cardiac care. Through our combined endeavours, over 1,000 children have received life-changing treatments, surgeries, and compassionate medical care, ensuring that their unique needs are met with utmost dedication and expertise.

Their field staff, along with Team Balika, identifies and approaches "Out of School Girls" who have either never enrolled in school or had to discontinue their primary education. Through our partnership, Educate Girls has successfully enrolled over 2,700 "out-of-school" girls in schools, enabling them to pursue an education.

Adult Literacy Program for Women In collaboration with Rotary Charitable Trusts, CDSL aims to empower illiterate tribal women in Palghar by teaching them functional literacy and digital skills in their native language. Trained teachers, known as Prerikas, have imparted knowledge to over 4,000 women using computer-based learning. This initiative has enabled these women to grow, connect with the outside world, and adapt to a rapidly changing environment.

CDSL’s financial education initiative Through Awarathon, our online academy called AARTH, we provide easily accessible, in-depth financial knowledge to learners in the age group of 18-25 residing in Tier II and Tier III cities. Learners can enhance their understanding by taking free online exams integrated into the platform and earn certifications. In the previous financial year, we conducted 100 webinars across 30 cities, and learners were trained through approximately 60 videos available in English, Hindi, and Marathi.

Tree Plantation Program Through our partnership with Sankalpturu Foundation, we have taken part in a remarkable tree plantation program, having planted over 6,800 saplings at various locations in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Meghalaya. Under the visionary Urban Plantation Program, we are addressing the grave issue of pollution in urban cities by strategically planting native plant species that are high producers of oxygen in Navi Mumbai and Ahmedabad. Additionally, through the Barren Community Land Transformation Program, we are devotedly transforming barren lands into thriving, biodiverse forests, positively impacting both communities and wildlife in the border regions of Rajasthan and Meghalaya.

Vajra- Threat Detection and Response in Linux and Windows End Points CDSL has joined forces with IIT Mumbai for Project Vajra, an extraordinary endeavour aimed at bolstering cybersecurity. This ground-breaking initiative equips system administrators with the ability to swiftly detect lateral movements, prioritize escalation, and effectively control potential damage. In an era characterized by a rapidly evolving digital landscape, where cyber threats loom large, this powerful tool empowers MSMEs and other small organizations that often lack the financial means to fortify their cybersecurity defences.

Rashtriya Raksha University, Gandhinagar (RRU):

Prevention of Victimization from Forgeries & Financial Frauds In collaboration with The School of Forensics, Risk Management & National Security at Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), Gandhinagar, CDSL is committed to unravelling the intricate modus operandi employed by criminals in forgeries and financial frauds. This research project aims to raise awareness and provide essential knowledge to law enforcement agencies, CAPFs, defence personnel, and the public, enabling them to safeguard their finances effectively.

FINANCIAL LITERACY & INCLUSION

Arth is a CSR Initiative from Central Depository Services (India) Ltd. with a mission to make financial education simple and accessible for all. Our online academy aims to impart financial awareness about personal finance and savings for the age group of 18-25 years in tier II and III cities and first time women investors. Arth strives on delivering knowledge which is in-depth yet simple. Our team constantly focuses on providing content which is contemporary and easy to understand, making it a great overall learning experience.

  • CDSL contributed towards Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF).
    The contribution to Prime Minister National Relief Fund are utilized primarily to render immediate relief to families of those killed in natural calamities, providing assistance and relief to the general public at large in any emergency situations, etc.

  • Association of Parents of Mentally Retarded Children:
    ADHAR (Association of Parents of Mentally Retarded Children) is a pioneer organization providing life-long residential care for mentally challenged adults.
  • Construction Of Dormitory and Multipurpose Hall By ADHAR:
    As a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), CDSL and its group company has sponsored for construction of New Dormitory and New Multipurpose Hall for ADHAR. New Dormitory for Male Residents is with the capacity of 50 special adults. The New Multipurpose hall is to be used for socialization of the residents and also for various activities like Morning prayer, Yoga classes, Dance & drawing classes, Residents enjoying movies / cricket matches on Sundays and holidays (on projector), Playing indoor games like carom, puzzles etc. The hall can be also utilized for parents meetings, Organizing various health camps for residents / staff, Celebration of festivals like - Ganapati, Diwali, Birthday celebrations, founder day, staff meetings etc. It also will act as Centre station for relaxation visitors / students groups visiting for study-tour.
  • Inauguration of Vocational Training Centre By ADHAR:
    As a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), CDSL and CVL has sponsored a generator set of 40 KVA, 36 seater Bus and construction of Vocational Training Center and administrative office for ADHAR. The Center was inaugurated on August 15, 2016 by Shri. T. S. Krishna Murthy, Chairman, CDSL. The Center will endeavour to promote vocational training to residents so as to develop their skill sets. In the vocational training center at Adhar, residents are engaged with different activities like embroidery, screen printing, painting, drawing and making chalks, candles, Agarbattis, office files, dusters etc.
  • Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund (CMPRF):Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund (CMPRF):
    Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund (CMPRF) is working towards relief and rehabilitation in the state caused due to the recent “Gaja” Cyclone. CDSL has donated for the Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund (CMPRF). CDSL’s Tamil Nadu Regional Head, Mr. AR Vasudevan along with Mr. B. Karthik, Mr. V. Nagappan & Mr. K.Srinivasan, presented the DD to Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister Shree Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Feb 14, 2019.
  • Varasidhi Visual Vidhyashram (VVV) Trust:
    VVV is Prime Educational and Social Trust, which has been serving underprivileged children and women of South Tamil Nadu since 2016. VVV is an NGO, Charitable Educational Trust in Tirunelveli, Tamilnadu. VVV had started an educational training programme for competitive exams and other soft skills training free of cost, so as to equip them to get qualified for employment with the Government.. The trust had already acquired a rental building with three class rooms which are equipped with necessary infrastructure to meet this objective.CDSL has donated towards the purchase the equipment required by VVV for conducting training, which IncludesNew play school basic needs, white board, LCD , projector & audio system. CDSL has also sponsored a 8 seater van for transporting the children to the training centre and for other welfare activities of Villagers.
  • The Nest India Foundation:
    The Nest India Foundation is a registered charitable trust functioning at Mumbai, India. Established in Jan 2008, the objective of the Trust is to help orphaned destitute children attain their full potential. It currently runs a home for destitute girl children in the name ‘Angel Nest’. Currently ‘Angel Nest’ is sheltering and educating 29 girl children. CDSL has donated a mini van which will make it more convenient for these children to travel to school.
