CDSL launches internet services - easi

CDSL has launched its internet services "Electronic Access to Securities Information" (easi) at the hands of Shri G. N. Bajpai, Chairman SEBI, inaugurated at a function held at the BSE Convention Hall on Monday, April 22, 2002.

"easi" aims to make available to CDSL system users, the following facilities virtually at their fingertips:

Up-to-date balances of their holdings in their CDSL demat accounts and the status about execution of their instructions.
Details of transactions of the past seven days. Depending upon the demand of the users, the period could be extended further.
Getting a print of statements of their demat accounts.
easi offers a novel facility of providing daily valuation of the stocks held in a demat account. The valuation will be done at the preceding day's closing price at The Stock Exchange, Mumbai (BSE). This will help investors to plan their investments and/or trading activities more systematically.

The second phase of CDSL's Internet Services Project, likely to go live sometime in July-August this year, will enable the demat account holders in CDSL to give delivery instructions to their DPs.

easi has incorporated various security measures to prevent unauthorised access by using a multi-layered security architecture comprising password, encryption and digital certification.
