CDSL is in receipt of a circular ref no.12 dated 30-10-2002, from Securities and Exchange Board of India stating that "No account closure charges be imposed on the closure of any beneficial owner accounts" with effect from November 1, 2002.

In accordance with the circular, CDSL has advised its Depository Participants not to collect any charges in respect of any account closure.
